Tuesday 12/28 Wine Tasting Notes @ La Belle Epoque Wine Bistro
Bommarito Merlot Napa 2008Check out their Facebook page for tonight's selections
'This wine has an underlying aroma of toasty oak, incense and nutmeg. The flavors are of ripe cherry and plum with spicy cinnamon. The Syrah enhances the texture and adds layers of flavor to the mid-palate. It is a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine with an easy finish of smooth, rounded tannins and pleasing oak that is ready to drink now.
Christian Moueix Medoc 2005
"Soft and fruity, with tobacco, plum and berry character. Medium-bodied. Delicious."
*85 points Wine Spectator, March 31, 2008
"Beautiful red deep color. Red fruit bouquet. Powerful and well balanced body with long length." 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot
St Francis Wild Oak Merlot Sonoma County 2005
"Shows good structure and focus, with plum and pencil lead aromas and sleek black currant, cedar and spicy dill flavors. Drink now through 2014."
*88 points, Wine Spectator, November 15, 2009
"It's dry and a bit rugged, but saved by lush flavors of black cherries, currants, mocha and spices, and a sweet coating of sandalwood. Decant for an hour to let it breathe."

Media Borough Highway Department Does Great Job Removing Snow!
#delcosnow
I'm not sure if it was early preparation, quick action or constant follow-up......or maybe a combination of all three, but the Media Boro. Highway Department did a really good job at clearing the roads for this morning's commuters and residents.
Great Job! And thanks, as always, for making Media passable and safe during this time of the snow season.

Media Borough passes 2011 Budget with no Tax Increase!
In trying economic times, especially in municipalities across the county who have had to raise taxes, kudos to Media Borough Council for holding the line and working within a budget that will NOT require a tax increase for the 2011 budget.

"Color: Pale straw with tints of lemon-green. Aroma: Very intense with notes of citrus. Delightful, floral. Taste: Crisp and dry with youthful vitality and freshness."
"This Vermentino is delicious, citrus and lemon, white peach with a spring-water minerality, fresh and crystal clean. Very light and very easy. If you love Pinot Grigio, give this Vermentino a try."
Castello di Meleto Toscana Rainero 2004
"The estate's 2004 Rainero is equal parts Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 14 months in new French oak. Nothing in particular stands out here, this is just one of those rare wines of outstanding balance and harmony where everything is in the right place. Medium in body, the wine offers a core of dark fruit beautifully framed by finessed, ripe tannins and beautifully integrated oak. It is another outstanding effort from Castello di Meleto." 92 points, Wine Advocate, June 2008
Tedeschi Capitel san Rocco Valpolicella DOC Superiore Ripasso 2007
"Tedeschi's opulent Capitel San Rocco ripasso boasts elements of red fruit, spice, coffee, cola and sandalwood. The wine is perfumed and intense and the mouthfeel is focused and sharp." 90 points Wine Enthusiast, October 1, 2009
"The 2007 Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Capitel San Rocco is a dark, brooding wine loaded with jammy black fruit, minerals and sweet spices. The wine reveals plenty of depth and persistence in an authoritative, powerful style." 88 points Wine Advocate, October 2009
